Growth:
Weakly to moderately vigorous growth, forms a loose crown with thin, drooping fruiting wood.
Blossom:
early to mid-early, tall and regular, very low frost sensitivity, diploid, very good pollen disperser.
Ripening time:
Harvest time: mid-September; Ready to eat: harvest until October
Look:
Medium-sized, oblong fruits, stem- to mid-bellied, small calyx, deep stem cavity. Light yellow-green, smooth skin, 40–90% wine-red, flamed blush; bloom and, in some areas, net-like russeting.
Quality:
soft, cream-colored flesh, fine-grained and juicy
Taste:
Sour, fruity aroma; ideal for apple strudel.
Yield:
starts early, is high and regular
Recommendation:
Resistant to scab, fire blight and powdery mildew; recommended by the Ortenau district office for orchards.
